Google Buzz?

Are you ready business owners? You thought you were just beginning to understand the “Social Media” landscape with websites like Facebook and Twitter. But now, Google has gone and made life a little bit more complex with the release of Google Buzz.

Buzz is Google’s answer to social media and many consider it to have a lot of similarities to Facebook. Much like Facebook, the new social network allows it’s users to connect with one another to share and collaborate over comments, links, pictures and video.

googlebuzz_1575276cThe release is significant not only because it is backed by Google (and they have a habit of releasing successful products), but that it is integrated into Gmail, Google’s mail service. To date, Gmail has over 170 million users which now, are also members of Google Buzz. Google has reported that there are already 9 million posts on Buzz. Mashable.com comments, “Remember, this is a service that launched on Tuesday, meaning that it’s getting more than 160,000 comments and posts per hour.”

There is already a lot of talk happening over the new service. It’s early, so there will be plenty more news to come.

If you’re interested in checking out Google Buzz, all you have to do is sign in with your Gmail account. If you’ve never setup a Gmail or Google Account, you can do so here.
